Event Description

In the Budo Hiketsu-aiki no jutsu (1899) it states "The most profound and mysterious art in the world is the art of aiki. This is the secret principle of all the martial arts in Japan. One who masters it can be an unparalleled martial genius." This we have witnessed in Morihei Ueshiba and his creation of Aikido.

Unfortunately, since the time of O-Sensei, no one has been able to rise up to the level that he reached. The teaching of Aikido has been done in the format of weekend seminars and week long intensives, both with little emphasis on personal training and generally no discussion of the principle of Aiki itself. Continuing in this manner the art of Aikido can only continue to decline.

It is my belief that, in the future, we will see more and more seminars designed to correct this fatal flaw. Under the conditions of our modern Western society, it is impossible to grasp the essence of aikido in this way. For this purpose we are beginning to hold more extended and personalized seminars with fewer people. The first of these will be held at the Aikido Eastside dojo in Bellevue, WA.
